My research focuses on understanding the structure of subatomic nuclei especially those that are unstable and do not occur in nature but are very crucial to understand nucleo-synthesis as it happened in the early stages of the universe. I focus on g-ray spectroscopy (both prompt and delayed) to obtain information about excited states in nuclei which leads to an increased understanding of the forces that holds the nucleons together inside the nucleus. The experiments are carried out both at FSU and national facilities like the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory at MSU and Argonne National Laboratory.
