There are three basic styles that are used in our lab - the CYLINDER style, the BRICK style, and the SMALL BRICK style. I try to mark the style on the box when I get them. All may be used for gate valve operation. The cylinder style is slightly cheaper than the brick, and the small brick is cheaper by far. The primary reason for matching styles is so that you need not re-design the mounting flange and the compressed air plumbing just for replacement. After replacement, the old valve should be discarded. The manufacturer claims that they can be rebuilt, but our in-house experience has shown this not to be the case. Indeed, the manufacturer's success rate was only about %50 for the valves we sent them for rebuild. Don't waste your time.
You will have to adapt the electrical side of this valve. Some set-ups use simple wire nuts, while others use Molex connectors. Contact the electrical shop for help with connectored systems.
